Go to Museums in Korea

Go to Museums in Korea

Something that may surprise you is that many if not all museums in Seoul are free. There are a few exceptions like the Trickeye Museum that you have to pay to go into but most are free. This is weird for Americans since most museums here you need to pay to go to and it's normally expensive. In Seoul, that is not the case and is a welcome surprise.

Even if you are not a historical type of person these museums are fun to go to and learn about different aspects of Korean culture. One of the quirkier museums is the one for Kimchi, yes you read it right. This is a staple in Korean culture and it makes sense why there is a museum for this food. Here you can learn about the importance of Kimchi and there are also workshops where you can learn how to make kimchi. For those who like this food, this is a highly recommended stop for you.

Trickeye Museum

As mentioned above, the trickeye museum is one you have to pay to go into. This is not your normal museum, it's so different from museums that you know. This is a gallery that is interactive with your phone. Many people love to take pictures here. You use an app to make the images come alive and get great pictures. There is also an ice museum included in your admission to the trickeye portion. This is full of a display made out of only ice. It’s a nice place to go in the summer and it has a slide that you can go down that brings you back to childhood.
