What is it? What is it known for?

Daejeon is a city that is in the ccenter of the country and promotes itself as a city of science. This is backed by over 200 research institutes located here. Many of them are also for big companies like Samsung and LG. There are also universities known for their research here like the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology(KAIST). If you want to learn about Korean currency there is a museum here for it. 

The National Science Museum hosts various types of exhibitions of science materials. The center of the museum is the astronomical hall which is where you can learn about space. They also have exhibits for things in nature like weather, plants, and animals. You can see a weather evaluating machine from the Goryeo period here as well,

Hanbat Arboretum is located in the center of the Expo Science Park and is the biggest man-made one. There are 19 themed gardens like the Magnolia Garden, Rock Garden, and Medicinal Herbs Garden in addition to the main West and East Gardens. 

Hours:

National Science Museum: 9:30 am-5:50 pm, closed on Mondays 

Hanbat Arboretum:

• April-September: 6:00am-9:00pm

• October-March: 8:00am-7:00pm

Cost: 

National Science Museum: Varies by the exhibition, but is around 2,000 KRW

Hanbat Arboretum: Free
